The State of Michigan has for a long time allowed Licensed Millionaire parties to be held for fund raisers for in state charities. These events would include any number of Casino type games. With the popularity in Texas Hold-em poker growing world wide, these millionaire parties quickly changed to Texas Hold-em tournament fund raisers.
The one main problem for the charities was they didn't have poker tables or qualified dealers. So in came a new business niche the suppler. They would provide dealers, tables, chips and cards to any charity for their event. This method continued for a few years until on of the suppliers thought of a great idea. Why run around from charity event to charity event. What if we booked a location and held the charity events in a fixed location. Then we could bring charities in here.
That was the birth of the Charity Poker Room in the State of Michigan. With the Rooms located in a single location it allowed for repeat business from the same players. This has allowed the suppliers to save cost of transporting their equipment from event to event.
So with all of the history what has this done for our State? We are in one of the Biggest Recession in history. The Charity Poker Rooms have given our in state charities a method to raise money on a down economy.
